Popeye for the Spinach Capital of the World;
Crystal City, Texas unveils a new icon in the city's plaza.

Wax Track Gallery celebrates the creation and unveiling of a ten foot monument of Popeye on his famous can of spinach.
This event will happen in the Spinach Capital of the World, Crystal City, Texas. A six foot, half ton Popeye reigns over his plaza from the top of his one ton can of spinach.
In an effort to get some good publicity, the City / Centennial Committee initiated plans to diversify the economical base from the status quo, by commisioning Isom Enterprises / Wax Track Gallery International to create a new Popeye for them. Popeye an icon from the city past has seen a renaissance as the city looks to the future.
Cystal City is the home of "Delmonte" vegetable, farm industry. Popeye has become Cystal city's beloved icon proceeding the city, representing its spinach crops.
WTGI creates historical exhibitions, which travel various locations such as, state, city, and private institutions. We have created over 40 statue portraits of renowned figures, and have a diverse collection of historical artifacts. Our Arts Guild program trains students at a high level.
Popeye was a project the gallery carried out with new collaborative concrete
professionals.
